Fenofibrate helps reduce cholesterol and triglycerides (fatty acids) in the blood. High levels of these types of fat in the blood are associated with an increased risk of atherosclerosis (clogged arteries). Fenofibrate may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Triglide is a drug that is used to help lower high levels of bad cholesterol (low density lipoproteins) in the blood and raising the levels of good cholesterol (high density lipoproteins). It belongs to a group of drugs called fibrates. Triglide works by increasing amounts of an enzyme that is responsible for breaking down fats in the blood.
