Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) is a man-made granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), which triggers the growth of neutrophils or white blood cells. The prescription drug is used to treat Neutropenia, which occurs when an individual has a low level of white blood cells. Low white blood cells increase the possible risk of infection.
