Narcan is a medication with a generic name naloxone hydrochloride and belonging to the category of drugs known as antidotes. Narcan drug partially or completely reverses the interferences of the narcotics thus known as narcotic antagonist. It acts by blocking the opiate receptor sites which in turn prevents or reverses toxic effects of the opioid or narcotic analgesics.
