Miglitol is a glucosidase inhibitor which is administered to treat type 2 diabetes. It helps to slow down the digestion of carbohydrates to glucose which leads the rise of blood sugar levels following a meal. It I taken in combination with a proper dieting and exercising program which will help control high blood sugar levels thus preventing blindness, kidney damage, loss of limbs, nerve problems, lessen risks of heart attacks/strokes and sexual function problems. Miglitol may be used alone or in addition to other drugs depending on your doctor's advice.
