Ethosuximide is a drug used in the treatment of petit mal seizures, also known by the name absence seizures. The drug works by blocking T-type calcium channels, which serves to reduce overall neuronal excitability. Ethosuximide is administered only via the oral route, either as a capsule or a liquid.
