Erlotinib is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their spread in the body. Erlotinib is used to treat non-small cell lung cancer. Erlotinib is currently marketed under the name Tarceva and is a medication used to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) as well as, in some cases, pancreatic cancer and several other types of cancer. It is irreversible tyrosine kinase inhibitor that acts on the EGFR, or the epidermal growth-factor receptor.
