Dutasteride/tamsulosin, or Jalyn, is grouped in the drug class of 5 alpha reductase inhibitors and antiadrenergic agents. This means that Dutasteride/tamsulosin is used to treat a prostate gland that is larger than normal. An enlarged prostate gland is usually an indicator for prostate cancer; however, Dutasteride/tamsulosin does not treat a cancerous, or malignant, tumor. Dutasteride/tamsulosin only treats benign tumors. Please note that Dutasteride/tamsulosin isn't meant for children, women, and especially pregnant women. Ingesting Dutasteride/tamsulosin when pregnant may cause significant birth defects as well as side effects to the mother.
