Microtubule Inhibitors

Mitotic inhibitors; as the name suggests, are drugs that inhibit cell division. They do so by disrupting the microtubules- cell structures that are responsible for pulling apart the cell during division- and they are mostly used in the treatment of various forms of cancer and some cause other complications. Cancer cells metastasize and spread through mitosis and as such; microtubule inhibitors can control the spread. Similarly, these drugs are also used in the study of chromosomes. Most of these drugs are derived from plants.

The list below features some of the microtubule inhibitors; many more are still not included in the list though.

There are several drugs under this category and chances of confusing these drugs is always very high, you are therefore strongly advised not to administer these drugs on your own but rather seek a doctors opinion regarding the type of microtubule inhibiting drug suitable for you.

As already hinted before, microtubule inhibitors are just a general term for individual drugs with different uses and functions as well as modes of operation. • Curing neuroblastoma
  • Curing ovarian cancer.

This category of drug treats alongside other drugs almost if not all types of cancer; they can cure other complications as well but that requires a doctor's advice.

Microtubule Inhibitors Interactions

There is a number of varying ways that mabs are utilized for therapy where some medical conditions are concerned. This is because they are used to destroy any malignant cells that promote tumors and to prevent tumors from growing by blocking certain cell receptors. These special antibodies are used in many diagnostic tests to reveal any small amounts of drugs, hormones, or toxins.

Monoclonal antibodies are in pregnancy test kits to detect the presence of HCG and another diagnostic use for antibodies is in the diagnosis of AIDS by the ELISA test. These antibodies are also used in research reagents and human therapy.
