Busulfan is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body. Busulfan is used to treat the symptoms of chronic myelogenous leukemia (a type of blood cancer). Busulfan is not a cure for leukemia. Busulfan may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Busulfex is an alkylating agent that works by slowing down reproduction and growth of certain white blood cells. You should not use Busulfex if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in it. Before using Busulfex, contact your doctor or a health care provider especially if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, taking any prescription or if you have bone marrow problems.
