Alprostadil is a prostaglandin, PGE1 that treats erectile dysfunction in males. It belongs to the class of drug impotence agents, vasodilators. Alprostadil has brand names such as Caverject Impulse, Edex, Prostin VR and Caverject. It acts by dilating particular penis muscles and widening the blood vessels therefore enhancing the blood flow to the penis that in turn results in erection.
