Absorica is a drug used to treat severe cystic acne that has failed to respond to treatment with drugs like benzoyl peroxide or clindamycin. The drug belongs to a class of drugs known as Retinoids. Absorica works by decreasing the facial oil production. High amounts of facial oil also known as sebum leads to severe acne. The dosage of the drug is in capsules that are swallowed whole by the patient.
Absorica is used to treat severe acne that has defied other medicines. It might also be used in certain patients with the following conditions: Rosacea (red-skin disorder of the face), Hidradenitis suppurativa (sweat-gland complications), Thickened or patchy skin disorders, including keratosis follicularis Folliculitis, gram-negative (bacterial infection of the facial skin).
