Pyrazinamide is one of the drugs used in the treatment of patients with tuberculosis. It is not only a bacteriostatic (stops bacteria reproduction) but also a bactericidal (destroys/kills bacteria) drug especially on tuberculosis bacteria that are actively replicating. Pyrazinamide is used in combination with isoniazid and rifampicin.
