Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet drug used in the treatment of conditions where there is a likelihood of thrombosis. Thus, by blocking P2Y12, clopidogrel serves to prevent platelet activation, aggregation, and clot formation. As a result, it prevents thrombus formation.
